Brilliant Bat Costly Charge. JAPANESE LOSE 500. (Received May 30, 0.37 p.m.) LONDON, May 29. The Daily Telegraph's Tokio correspondent reports that General Mistchenko, who was reported to have annihilated two Japanese companies, only extricated his force by a bril- ' liant but costly charge through tha ! Japanese.infantry, cavalry and artillery in position across the line of retreat. The correspondent adds that the Japanese losses, apart from prisoners. were five hundred. Continuous heavy rain impeded operations.
