Ho will now go to England tec spend some lime at I ondon hospitals belore returning to' New Zealand to commence practice.

A pleasing ceremony took nlace at the Volunteer's Hall on Wednesday evening, when when Kir Joseph Ward —who warmly complimented the recipients—presented Messrs Samuel F. Bennett and Murray White wiith the bronze medal anti scroll of the lloyal Humane Society for saving Waiter Haddrell from drowning, on March • 23, 1904. The particulars of this I brave action are well known to the' public. It is interesting to learn that ] both young men were previously pre} sented by Sergeant Haddrell, father* of tho young man saved front drowning, with gold medals to commemorate their bravery. Sir Joseph Ward feelingly commented on the decease of Mr Fred Iloldsworth l , Mho was also to have been presented •with a lioyal Humana Society medal. The medal would, however, bo handed to his parents.
