MESSAGE OF GRATITUDE. (Par Press Association.) WELLINGTON, May 17. Hie Premier received the fallowing wires from Captain Do Tallec, captain of the wrecked barque " The Right Hon. Premier, Wellington,— Tile captain of the French ship Anion, and those with him on the Auckland Islands, send their sincere thanks to the Government of New _ Zealand for having saved them, and tor the splendid hospitality received. DUNEDLV, May 17. k The captain of the Anjou was in •f town to-day, and communicated tlio loss pf the ship to the owner. The crew remained on Ihe Hinewoa toHay, and visited Cape Saunders' lighthouse on her. In the evening a number of them were entertained at the Sailor's Best. They leave for Sydney by the Waikare to-morrow. The captain had no suggestion to - made with regard to the Government flepots on the islands.. (Received May 18, 1'.15 a.m.) SYDNEY, May 17.
