It was understood when the deputation of shopkeepers left the Premier on Saturday that the people infected would arrange amongst themselves as to which night would be best for the "late night" each week, and would communicate the result to the Premier or the Labour Department. Inquiries go t,q show that nothing has been 1 arranged, and that it is practically impossible to come to a general decision on the point. Phe executive of the Shopkeepers' Association made a tour last night of Hie shops whtyh were remaining open, and it found that about half the shopkeepers are determined to duly the law* regarding the "(ate night. The Association can do nothing beyond issuing a rocommendaUon that such ai«J such a tugh.t in >»ost generally suitable far seVUon, but indications are that shopKcepers will go their own gait.
