New Plymouth Investment and Loan Society.
The 29"th annual meeting of the New Plymouth Investment and Loon Society (permanent) was held at tho Society's office, Brougham Street., on Monday afternoon. Mr J. B. Oonnett (chairman of directors) presided. The report of the directors stated : "'file directors are pleased to bo able lo report that the usual rate of ; interest has been placed to the credit of the members. A very careful examination of the securities held' by
tho society has been on the whole satisfactory. The secretary (Mr C. Hennell) read the balance-shoot, which showed the gross profit for the year to be t£llßl 0s lOd. The statement of receipts and expenditure, prolit and loss, liabilities and assets, and reservo fund were also satisfactory.

The auditors <Messrs J. S. McKc]lar and C. F. Koote) were re-e'ecl-ed, and their remuneration Axed at £l2 12s. The directors were thankod for their services during' tha year, and a total honorarium of £7fi voted to them. Tho thanks o£ ihc shareholder# were accorded the secretary for tho admirable manner in which he had carried out his duties.
