CREATING A LAND BOOM.
(Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHUKCH, May 14. Al the Akaroa Magistrate's Court yesterday, Alfred Nelson, with a large number of other aliases, was committed for trial to the Supremo Court, on live informations charging him ivith issuing valueless cheques. Accused, by. purchasing land at £BO per acre, succeeded in creatine; the impression that there was a boom in Peninsula lands. A number of his cheques were issued to Akaroa hotclkeepers, and one was for a horse for which he paid £2B and afterwards sold for £l9 10s.
