The Council of the Rifle Union mot at Inglewood on Tuesday night, Lieutenant Surrey occupying the chair. AH the delegates were present. It was decided to allow .Private Kretschmar to firo his rounds ia. the aggregate match at Feilding, under the supervision of Captain Barltrop. v AH subscriptions from corps and members must be in by the 18th inst., otherwise the members will not be allowed to take part. Lieutenant Thomas tendered his resignation as secretary, '. owing to, business engagements, but was provailed on to hojd it over until the annual meeting. The match for aggregates is fixed for June 3, at the Tariki rifle range. The Council will meet on the 23rd inst

The Taranaki Rifles will fire the first competition for a trophy presented by Lieutenant Okey to-day at ■the conclusion of the Government medal match, ranges 200 and 600 yards, seven shots, and two optional shjhters at each range. The handicaps are -.—Lieutenant Colonel OkSy, Lieutenant Okey, Corporal Armitage, Privates Humphries T. Marrctt, and A. Marrett, scratch ; Sergeant Lister, Privates Okey and and McKcown, 2 points ; Lieut. Lever, Privates Bruce and Cole, 6 points : Sergeant Kendall, BuglerSorgtant Hopkins, and Private Bacon. 8 points ; Privates Morshead, Wood, J. Tippins, Bullot, Reed, Kurta, R. Clarke, Rickman, Da vies, and Corporal Roberts, 12 points'; Corporals Duller and Pycroft, and Privates TicEncr, Cock, Feek, Black, King, Pellew, Joseph, and Hanover, 11 points ; the remainder of the company, 20 points. , Members unable to lire to-day may do so on Saturday.
