Recreation Grounds Board.

The annuul meeting of the Board was held last evening at the office of Mr F. P. Corkill. Present : Messrs C. W. Govett (chairman), S. Percy Smith;, F. P. Corkill, W. L. Newman, and H. C. Hughes. Apologies for absence were received from Mr H. Ford and tho Borough Council representatives. The Committee of the lato Star sports wrote asking the Hoard to accept tho'sum of £lO instead of £l(s us for. the use, of the grounds on Eaater Monday, owing to the poor attendance of .the public. It was resolved, that the committee bo informed that the Hoard rogrets it is unable to accede to the request. It was decided that the Acclimatisation Society be permitted to erect a fish hatchery in the grounds subject to the approval of the Hoard. Tho Hoard's attention having been called to an advertisement for a football match in the grounds on Thursday next that it Is proposed to charge guto-money, and for which no authority had Iwen asked on obtained from the Hoard, it w a s resolved that no such charge be permitted. Hearty votes of thanks were passed to the chairman for his past services, to the secretary, and to Mr Corkill for the.use of his offices.
