Taranaki District Law Society.

The annual general meeting ol lhe Society was held at the Supremo Courthouse at New iMymouth on Thursday evening, when all part* o' the Taranuki Provincial District were represented. The secretury, Mr W. A. 1). Hunks, read the accounts for the preceding year, showing the addition of a large number of text books and reports to the library, and; a small balance in Jlank after providing lor the usual annual grunt to Ilaweru, and reports for the use of the members at Stratford. The president, Mr Samuel, addressed the members, pointing out the effect of various Acts of Parliament pas,od during 1904, and the changes in the law and procedure.; and dwelling generally on various points of ink-rest to the legal profession, after which an interesting discussion, The election of ofßqers resulted in the re-election of Mr Samuel os president, of Mr T. 0. Fookcs as vice-president, Messrs F. E. Wilson, Hutchen, Korr, ami J. E. Wilson, Members of the Council (to act with the ei-ofllcio members, the president, vice-president, and treasur er, Mr Quilliam), and Mr A. H. Stanilish as auditor.
