Mr H. 0. Clarke has been elected Mayor of Pa tea, unopposed. Miss Small, of Whenuakura, has been appointed mistress of the Manaia school.

Mr J. McAneny, of Hawera, has secured the contract for the erection of stables at Hawera for tho Agricultural Department. Mis Copland and Mr H. M. Ban-, chope were amongst the. callers at the N.JS. Agency-General towards the end of March.

Mr Dromgool, the newly appointed first assistant In the High School, will arrive in Stratford in about a week's time.
