Accident at the Breakwater.
. Whilst engaged in tho work of un- ; loading the s.s. Coiy'nna at tho breakwater shortly after 12 o'clock on Sunday night, an employee of tho I nioa S.S, Company named .f. Howell met with an accident which resulted in a broken thigh. Howell was one of the gang working on the forward hatch, and operations had only been in progress for a few minutes when the mishap occurred. As the hltb sling „f cargo, consisting of eight sucks of wheat, was being hoisted up, the wire rope by which it was suspended parted, 'and the sling iu its; descent struck him on the shoulder. The blow precipitated him violently on to tho stuck on his lelt sidf, and when picked up it was found thut his- left thigh was broken, and his body severely bruised. Dr. Home was summoned, and ordered Howell's removal to the hospital, where he is making as good progress as can.be, expected. "
