Daily Service to Onehunga.
CONTIMJEO TO MAY Hist. We are very pleased lo be in a position to announce "that the daily steamer service between Now l'lymouth and Onehunga is to be continued, at any rate, till the end ol May. Yesterday Mr O. H. Morgan, local manager for the - Union Steam Ship Company, received from tbe head oflit'e word to that effect, anc it may be presume;! that, the Northern Steamship Company will carry out their part of this arrangement. 31 r Morgan has alway.H been in favour of the daily service, ami lvas done all he could to ensure Hs continuajicc. H does not follow as the extension is till May JU only, that the service will positively cease then; that is a matter for future adjustment, and we hope a strong- effort will be made, both here a mil in Auckland—where, by the way, the peo,)le seem apathetic over ihe question—'to induce, the companies—and, il necessary, to bring pressure to bear upon the Government to assist—to maintain during the winter months the present convenient travelling facilities.
