Opening Consumptive Annexes.
CEREMONY. GAItDEN PABTy, AND HALL, The erection of the two annexe* at the Hospital, intended for lite treatment of consumptive patient*, is Hearing completion. These being iho liml strut-lures of the kind erected in New Zealand In connection with public hospitals (apart Horn the sanitorium ot Cambridge) the chairman of the Hospital Hoard (Mr G. Tisch) recommended at Mondays Hireling that the occasion bo suitably marked by an opening ceremony. The Hoard unanimously agrecd and coincided with Mr Tisch'a •uggeslions that the Premier and Sir •Jo/cph Ward be asked to jierform the opening ceremony, thut invitations be extended to Dr. liavou, tba Chief Medical Officer for New Zoaland, and Dr. Valinline, Asiiwtant Medical Officer, and thut the opening be celebrated by a garden party in the hospital grounds, to b* followed by a, hospital bail in tha evening. A meeting is to be convened to appoint committees aud make all arrangements. It is proposed to utilise the proceeds from these functions for procuring X Hay apparatus, and making other improvements. The establishment of these annexe* has attracted outside attention, and recent. 4y, at their request, a copy of tha Elans and speciacaUons was forwarded through Dr. Vallntine to tha Napier Hospital Board.
