ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
(Per Press Association.) CHHISTCHIiaCH. April 14. A verdict that deceased hanged hur.sclf whilst in an unsound state of mind was returned at the inquest on Susan Dickenson. George CarviU, a widower, about 55 years of age, whilst returning to Ellesrocrc last night from Uurnbam Plains, was thrown from his horse and killed. DUNEDIN, April 14. William Pyfo, 26 years of age, employed at a flaxmlll at Sandy Mount, was received into the hospital suffering from a severely crushed and lacerated nrm. through being drawn into the scutcher. After examination the arm was amputated, but Fyfo succumbed to his injuries.
