Wesleyan Church.

The quarterly meeting: of circuit officials was held on Tuesday evening in the Whiteley Hall, when there was a largo attendance, the Rev. J. N. Buttle presiding. The chairman reported the numbers on the members 101 l as 256, (including the Coast Mission). Finance :—The balance-sheet was presented by tho circuit stewards and recommendations adopted with a view of raising the income necessary to provide for the support of a second minister. Collections were authorised to l;c made during the ensuing quarter for Whiteley Church Trust Fund, Foreign Mission Fund, and the Carrington Road Sunday .School. Sunday Sshools :—The reports from four Sunday Schools were considered and it was decided that statistical returns should be made quarterly if possible. A coimni-U.ee was re-appoint-ed to deai with the establishment of another school in an outlying district.

Harvest Festivals :—lt was reported that successful harvest festival services had been held during the past quarter at Whitelty Church, Frankley Hoad, Hurford Koadi and Upland Road, and that arrangements were in progress for similar services at Carrington Road and Lower Egniont Road.

General :—lt was decided to hold a special service on Good Friday evening. The question of fixing a date for introducing the new Church Hymn iiuok was remittal to the trustees. The. meeting resolved that the second minister should reside at the south end of the town, and it was proposed to supply additional services at South Hood, if found practicable. Ile-ference was muelc to the approaching mission of Ilr. Torr, IfronijAii.stralla, and a committee was set up to make the necessary arrangements". Mr S. 11. White was appointed as representative to the Colonial No-License Convention, at Wellington. A resolution was adopted 'expressing thanks to Mr .1. 1. Turnbull, and appreciation of his services as missionary in the Coast Mission. Mr Turnbull acknowledged the vote, and thanked those present for the many kindnesses extended to him." A letter was directed to be. sent 1o Mp'lvtidkjn, who has recently removed to Wnltara, acknowledging past services- at South Hood.
