The S.M., in committing the child temporarily to the Samaritan Home, and the mother" to the asylum, expressed himself in terms; of horror and disgust that such things were possible in a civilised community, and he rciraested the police to make a searching investigation' with a view to ascertaining who Uxo child's father is* A CLOTHIER'S CONVICTION.
