OSiORNE COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. - (Per Press Aaaodatlon.) j DIjNEDIN, April 7. The PoHco Court was engaged ull day in hearing the charges 01" breaking and entering and stealing aga. nst the ex-constables. Alfred Henry Osborne was committed for trial on three charges of stealing articles, iuclMing silk handkerchiefs, envelope.; and paper, soap, tobacco, pipes, etc., from three different premises. Bail was allowed accused in £4OO, and two sureties of £2OO each. A charge against Edward Quill of stealiflß a rue and pieces of tweud,
etc., *Bs partly heard, and adjourned tilßondny. The goods are supposed belong to the D'.I.C., and Alfredftros. I n tS cases against Osborne, he explaifld, when arrested, how he come I some of the goods. Some article! he said, he bought; others were flSen him by Constable Moses. The tobacco was given him by Quiil and a man named Riddington, who had found a tobacconist shop open.
