The New Post office Plans.

GOVERNMENT ALONE RESPONSIBLE FOlt DELAY. The old subject of the plans for the erection of the new post office woB referred to at Thursday night's meeting of the Works Committee. I. Cr. The fault lay entirely with ■ ( the Government, and he would like the Press to note that no such application as that mentioned had been made to tho Borough Council. The Council were only too willing to expedite the work'. Cr. Hrooßittg, who presided, supported Cr. Wilson's remarks. When the application was made some time ago by the Council to the Government that a clock tower should bo aTtachoii over the proposed new post loifflce, they agreed to raise a sum of |£2oo on the understanding that the : government subsidised this amount ■ jby £3OO, for the purpose of erecting • agooit clock.
