THE LAND COMMISSION.
(Per Press Association.! OAMARIJ, March 31. The Land Commission took evidence at Tokarahi to-dnv, onlv a few settlers tendering evidence. Thev were about equally divided on the question of the freehold versus the leasehold. They wore nearly oil agreed that Land Boards should be given more discretionary power The Advances to Settlers Department in the extent of its advances did not come in for approval. This feeling was expressed at Windsor and Ngapara yesterday. AH admilted that in the Ins*. iVw years they had done well, although' the first "two or three years in Tokarahi had been unprofitable, owing to adverse seasons. The Commissioners went to DunIroon in the evening, but no report has yet bten received from that place.
