ASSAULTING THE POLICE.
(Per Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, March 31. A charge against two brothers named Stott of assaulting Constable Holmes when arresting J. A. Slott for the theft of vegetables, commenced to-day. The prosecution alleged that the constable, who had been some days in the hospital, was violently resisted and kicked "in tho abdomen.
