£3OOO DAMAGES, (Received 1 March 30, 9.30 p.m.) LONDON; March 30, Captain Frederick John Fraser, of the Indian Army, brought action to restrain George Ed-wards presenting the pfluy ''The Cingalee,'' on the ground that its idea and general scheme were derived from his unpubtished play "The Hnngiann,. or Lotus."' Edwards, respondent, denied that YThe Cingalee"- derived its plot or ideas from "The Hangia'nn.'The jurv awarded £3OOO damages.
