! In a letter to the Town Clerk (Mr F. T. IWlringei) the Roya! Humane Society explains the -delay that has taken place in the presentation of the bronze medaLs awarded to Messrs S. Bennett and White for rescuing M lladdrell, junr., from drowning last year,. Jt appears tlnat the awards having been made to railway employees-, tile Minister for Railways, Sic Joseph Ward, has expressed a wish to personally make the presentation, lie hopes- shortly to be in New Plymouth, when he will take Ihe opportunity of doing so. °
