It is reported that General Kogi, by forced marches of 25" miles per fiay. co-aporating with General Oku's ' left, surrounded a great force of Russians near Tiering. He intercepted supplies for General Kuropafkin. General Nogi passed a Russian division. and paid it no attention until the enveloping was completed. ' Ilu then delivered a crushing attack on all sides. Some of the Russians at Mukden are retreating- oo the northern highways. Jjinievitchc's force is scattered in the hills south of Fushun. Kanrininru's six divisions of territor- ' ial troops are in the vicinity. Advices from Mukden stiilc that the entire Russian south front is re- 1 tiriqg. General KuropatKin's despatches deal with the repulse of the Japanese at various parts. He claims to have inflicted heavy losses, and mentions his falling- back on the entrenched positions.
