Egmont Road Board.
: The monthly Hireling of the Egjnont Uoad Board was held on Saturday afternoon at the oflice of the secretary (Mr l\ 0. Morton.) There were present—Messrs V. Howe (chairman), J. Martin, F. Davy, H-. Martin, and F. Salway. A plan showing the Hursthouse road deviation was approved anil signed. The engineer (Mr T. (5. Sole) sent in eortificates showing the work done on Hursthouse road, £IBB being due to Bayley and Co. and £7O to H. O. Skelton. In regard to King road, £Bl 18s was due to Hay ley and Co. These and other accounts—Sasn and Door Factory £3 ss, John Hayes £4 la 3d, and Bishop Urou. £l3 2s 6d—were passed for payment. I Eight tenders were received for the work of graVelhng 20 chains in Wills roaid.—After discuss'ion, the two lowest, those oif Messrs Bayley and Co. and Knuckcy, were ordered ; to be held over until Saturday next, it being understood if the latter tenderer agreed to get the gravel from jWcston's pit his tender will be accepted. | The secretary was instructed t 0 transfer the £BOO balance now to jthe credit of loan account into tho general account in order to save the payment of bank .interest. | A (joveramient circular was received intimating that the Minister for Labour had gazetted Thursday ai'tornoon as the weekly half-holiday jlor the business establishments in I the Board's district, | W.
