Dr. Robertson, president, m hig address, dealt with the management of public hospitals. The address was a plea;' (or legislation to increase the efficiency of managing boards; the ring disputes being attributed.to unsuitable composition of boards as now constituted. Owing to the want of expert knowledge and special, qualifications for its work, purely! local government has proved a failure, and more adequate central control is needed, "with uniform methods of administration. The medical profession, local bodies, and general Government should be represented on, the boards.
