DATE OF EXECUTION. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON. Foil. 22. Moth papers support the Executive Council in their decision re Ellis, the Te Awuit« murderer, whose execution wilt lake place at the Terrace Gaol, most likely-fjat 8 a.m. on Tuesday next. The duty oI j hanging the condemned man will bo performed by Tom Long, who ha* several times acted in tliat capacity in various parts of the colon*'.
I This morning the decision °ol the "xocutive Council was conveyed by Mr I>. s. Garvey. Governor of the 'lVrrace Gaol, JLo the condemned I man, who received the news with great calmness. Ellis is in splendid health, and eats and steeps well, lit is visited daily by Dr. Henry, the | gaol surgeon. A pipe and same toibacco have been supplied to Win. and any other little luxury which ho asks for is also given Win. On Friday morning U)e Sheriff will visit the gaol and acquaint Ellis with the date and hour fixed (or his execution.
