The Opaku Reserve.

At the meeting of the Education Board on Wednesday, Mr Mackay brought up the question ol' the Opaku Reserve, and stated that he had learned from Mr Kelly, M.L.C., that, he (Mr lvolly) had drafted a bill which it was proposed to bring before tho House next session. Me moved that line Right Hon. the Premier be reminded of his pri/fiiise to the Hon. T. Kelly to introduce the bill in his possession l dealing with ehe Opaku Reserve, and thut he be formed that the board will be pleased to hear that steps will be taken next session to enable the funds accrued and accruing from the reserve to be utilised 011 behalf of those for whom it was originally set apart. In seconding the motion, Mr Monkhouse referred to the fact that Mr Muckay had for the last eight years been striving to get a bill passed in the direction imliouted, and he considered it was high time the funds arising from the rese'.'ve were utilised in (he direction intended.

The motion was carried unanimously. It was decided to forward a copy of the foregoing resolution to all the members for the district.
