GRIPENBERG'S RETURN

(Received Feb. 21, 9.23 p.m.) St. PETERSBURG, Feb. 21. The Czar luis severely reprimanded General , Gripenbcrg for returning without his leave, and in deiiance of General Kuropatkin's orders, and has commanded him to await at St. Petersburg his decision on his conduct, which will be given this week. It is expected that he will be ordered to return to the front. General Kuropatkin's report states that he was unable to reinforce General Gripenberg after he had exceeded his instructions, as the Japanese were hoping to break through the Russian centre.
