THE DUNEDIN POISONING CASE.
ANALYSIS DISCLOSES SO PTOMAINES. (Per Press Association.) DUXEDIN, Feb. M. The adjourned imiuest in regard to tho deaths of Thomas Trudgcon and Walter Uiddcll, who died in the hospital from supposed ptoinaf ne poisoning, was resumed to-day. Mr G. M. ' Thomson and l>r. Black, who analysed samples of sheep tongues from the same lot as those which A had I*en partaken of by the young metf, gave evidence that they had failed to find any face of poisonousptomaines. Both were confident that il there had been any they would have ■detected them by the process lised. Dr. Black also tried for other poisons, but failed to find any trace. He had no hesitation in partaking of some of the tongues, and did so without tho slightest ill effects. In the case of Trudgeon, the jury returned a verdict that death was due to ptomaine poisoning, but trwr* was no evidence co show where the poison came from. In the case of Kiddell, the evidence in the previous case having been read over, the tJcar Company's expert was offered as a witness, hut the Coroner said there was no need tq take his evidence. Tho jury returned a verdict that the cause of death was poisoning l , but what the nature of the poison ami how _ it had originated there was not sufficient evidence lo show. \n an action for a breach of promise against a Miss Berry, who has [, ' since married another * maa.
