CONTINUANCE OF THE STRIKES.
GUNSMITHS' SHOPS LOOTED BY THE MOB. i (Received Feb. 18, 9 p.m.) St. PETERSBURG, Feb. 13. At Lodz there are 100,000 strik- I crs, who demand an eight hours' day I and wages at tho rate of 10d an | hour. The manufacturers offer a ten hours' day, with a more moder- | ate increase of pay. There are 10,- : 000 troops in the town, and more have been summoned. There is renewed disorder at Warsaw, and hooligans have plundered the gunsmiths' shops. The printers have struck, and all the big factories are idle.. The police have announced their intention to expel from the city all non-resident strikers. The Caucasian strikers are resuming work to avert starvation. An overwhelming! display of military force on Sunday overawed the St. Petersburg strikers, who had threatened to avenge the slaughter of January 22nd. Much violently revolutionary literature is circidating among the workmen.
