Theatre Royal.

THE KUSSO-JAP WAR PICTURES. Tho immense success which has attended the exhibition in .London of tht) war pictures taken >,jy the b.io>tubleau representatives at the front, justifies the anticipation for a successful season at the Theatre Royal, on. Friday and Saturday evenings next, under the direction of Mr J. 0. Williamson. The marvellous strides made in animated photography and the closer approach to perfection in mechanical appliances and electrical | adjuncts asi used by the Irio-tableau are abundantly brought home to the realisation of those who view the bio-tableau pictures and the wonderful records of the mighty struggle between Russia and Japan in tho Far East. The bio-tableau views which Mr Williamson wi'li present to the publ|ic ol New Plymouth are said to bo far removed from the pictures with which we have been acquainted. There is said to be an utter absence of that dazzling flicker which has been such a serious defect in previous moving picture entertainments. Here all lis clear and unwavering, and the .spectators see everything in exact reproduction. The scenes, it is stated, are realistic to tho highest degree of the grim realities of war. In addition to the war series a number ol peaceful pictures! will be shown, and it is said that one that calls for special mention is the great Toronto fire. Clearly before one's gaze is seen a portion of the great (!an«dian city. Suddenly the alarm bell is heard, and immediately a quiet business thoroughfare .is converted into a mass of excited and shouting populace. Next tho audiance is watching a raging lire talion by a Goei't/. lens' after midnightthe demolished city next morning, with the dynamiting of the dangerous walls brings to a climax

" -■ 1 : 1this realistic picture.. Box plan at McKinnon Bain's.; TKore will be a special matinee on Saturday next at 2 o'clock", also a grand change ol' I programme.
