The Premier will probably pay a visit to Nelson this week.
Mr John McNeil, Chairman of the Clutha County Council, is dead, lit arrived in Otago in 1819. The Hon. Theodore Fink, M.L.A., of Victoria, is at present on a holiday tour through New Zealand. The Star says it is understood (hat Mr A. J. Jury, of Okaiawa, is about to take over the Egmont Hotel a I Ifa were.
The Maiiawntu Times states that Mr R. Acheson, solicitor, of Carterton, is to be elevated to the rank of a magistrate.
The death is announced of Mr Richard King, who has been a resident of Hawera and district for many years, and latterly was for some time jn the employment of the Borough Council.
The death is! announced of Mr D. J, McKenzie, who was for many years connected with the actuarial branch of the Government Life Insurance Department, from which he osigned in 1902.
