LONDON, Jan. 26. The following wool clips sold Ngatapa lljd, Toviotdale Is 1-Jd. There is good demand for merinos und fine crossbreds. Coarse is one £cnny lower than at the opening. WELLINGTON, Jan. 27. The Department *oI Industries and Commerce has received the* following cablegram! from the Agent-General, dated London, 26th : —The wool sales are proceeding .with great animation, line wools having most attention. Since the opening sales medium and coarse wools have declined id per lb. The following are average prices Fine crossbred Is OJd, crossbreds lljd, coarse crossbreds IOJd, superior merino Is OJd, medium merino lid, inferior merino 9Jd. THE WELLINGTON SALES. WELLINGTON, Jan. 27. At the wool sales to-day 8250 bales were offered. There was a large entry of medium crossbred, .which at previous sales would have realised 9Jd to OJd. These sold at BJd to 9d. Half-bred soldi at 9Jd to 9|d, against lOd to IOJd last month. The decline may Ue put at fd to W on coarse wools, and Jd on fine wools'. The range of prices was:—Half-bred 9d to 9|d, super crossbreds 9d to 9Jd, medium do. B}d to 9d, coarse B<l to BJd, inferior 7d To Bd, lamb 7d to 9Jd, bellies and pieces 6d to 7d, locks 3d to 3Jd. The annual ram fair was held at Hastings to-day, and was tlie most successful held here for some years The sheep were chiefly L'incolns and Homneys, the total number being rather less than last year. Contraiy to -last year's experience Lineolns soM well throughout, in fact good prices were obtained for most of the Jots offered.
