TIMARU HARBOUR.

—♦— - (Per Press Association.) TIMARU, Jan. 27. The Harbour Board report states that nearly all tho material lost by storms from the eastern mole staging has been recovered. Blame is cast upon the turpenliiiio gum piles, jus being too brittle, and ironbark is to be preferred in future. The turpentine wood was recommended as tile liest for resisting l the teredo. The resident engineer recommended procuring a bucket dredge to deepen the whole harbour. Mr J, X'. Maxwell, consiMUiiig engineer, advises that this is not necessary in tho meantime, and that the matter bo held over pending the compflletion of the new mole and the ascertaining of its efltats.
