Exhibition Buildings.
ENDEAVOUR TO SECURE THEIR PRESERVATION.
A meeting was hold on Friday afternoon of a sub-commit too appointed iby tliQ general exhibition committee to consider the question idt securing the preservation of the exhibition 'taliWings l . There were preseoit\ Mesfcrs Hal. Goodacre (chairmart), C. Carter, W. Ambiiry, W. A. Collis, A. K. Standish, O. Waddy, 11. Stocfier, and N. K. McDiarmid.
Tho subject was discussed at some length, and eventually a motion by Mr Standish, seconded by Mr Carter, was carried, " That in tho opinion of this committoo it is desirable that the exhibition buildings bo preserved intact, for technical education and other public purposes." It was decided to approach the owners of the land 011 which the buildings stan'd, and ascertain what | arrangements can be made to give , effect to the resolution, awl also to recommend a moetjug of athletic and sports clubs wjitli a view of taking into consideration the milking a combined effort to retain in|tact the present building, and that delegates be appointed to meet tile 'general committee. I Mr MacDiarmid was lion, secretary.
