A PAIITY CI'T OFF FROM SUPPLIES. A NEW LAKE. (Per Promt Association.) TNVEKCAItGILL, Jan. 9(1. Messrs A. F. Grenfell (Gore), Hunter and Graves (Waitaki High School), and Gilford (Wellington College) had a rough time in Uw Sounds country. They wore provisioned for u fortnight, but had weather cut them off from their supplies for three weeks. Fortunately they had a gun, and shot sufficient birds i to supply them with food. Ail suffered appreciably, but not, it is belicvod, |>ernmnently. They claim to have discovered a lake of considerable size.
