A large meeting of Whangamomona iliKtrict settlers passed a scries dl resolutions pointing out that many families had been compelled to leavo the ■district, broken in hope, after years of struggle, on account of the high cost of the necessnries of life arising through the wretched transit facilities, and that more families wore ready to follow ; that settlers at Whangamomona desire regretfully to convey to the Government thnt they have been forced through neglect in providing reasonable means of transit to lose conlidence in the (iovernnient, and to view their own position with lio]>elessnoss.
