WORKS COMMITTEE. The Works Committee met on Thursday. There were present : Hi's Worship the Mayor (Mr It. Cock), and Crs. W. A. Wood, Cliff, Wilson, Brooking,, M. Frascr, G. Browne, C. Ahier, J. S. Medley, and Collis. Mr Meslayei', consulting engineer, was iu attendance. Tenders for the septic lank were then considered, and one recommended for acceptance by the councils : ! J Messrs Pikett and Co. were granted an extension of time for six J ?eeks on their contract on the waterworks.
