The Hon. J. D. Ormontl lost two valuable brood mares during the week—Queen of Trumps and Nixie. The former broke his leg and had to bo destroyed. The latter succumbed to the effects of blood-poisoning. The totalisnlor receipts iit Adelaide for tho year just ended show a falling-off of £19,000 us compared with those for IUO3.
