Play will be resumed at 9.30 this morning., Ibe Canterbury Lawn Tennis Championship meeting was opened on Tuesday. A boisterous sou'-wester on both days considerably marred the play, but otherwise the conditions were favourable. The ground was in lino order, Parker was easily tho best i>{ayer on tho ground.'The , general opinion was that Miss Nuunele.v did not play up to form. Miss l'owdrell gave a good exhibition', and was voted the test lady plaver of the day. Miss Campbell made a jiyucky light against Miss Nunneloy.
