The Keenan Case.
iPer Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Nov. 11. Tho civil action Thos. Keenan v. A. 11. Vernon King and otlv.irs was the subject of two applications in chambers to-day. Mr Sim, counsel for King, applied for further time to plead, urging that King should not be called to answer the statement of claim until the criminal charge had been disposed of. Mr Hosting, for Keenan, asked that the books and vouchers'for accounts should be brought Into court. After discussion Mr Justice Williams said he would make a n order ill this form : That King is to have a fortnight's further time to plead, and that ho be ordered to produce to the registrar, f o r the inspection of the opposite party, ail books, vouchers, and documents relating to items of expenditure shown in the accounts furnished by him, accompanied by an affidavit that those, are all the books and vouchors relating t fl such items or expenditure in his possession or control.
