NEW PLYMOUTH. FRTDAY, NOV. 4, I<J()4,

(Before Mr T. Hutchison, S.M.) Tho following civil business was disposed of : The case, Marlborough Brewery Co. v. D. Muroney, claim £lO 4s, in which a change of venue to New Plymouth was ordered by the Magistrate in Wellington, was adjourned by order of the Court for one week. Mr T. S. Weston (Weston and Weston,) for plaintiffs, Mb I), Hutchen for defendant. E. Reynolds and Co. v. Al'Bert Loveridge, claim £l, on account of the hire of a bicycle. Mr 1). llutchon for plaintiffs. Judgment for plainj tin's, with costs 6s-', payment to be by weekly instalments of 6s. W. J. Goniblin v. Thomas Halsall and liis wife Annie Halsall, claim £ll 17s -Id, balance due on a promissory note. Mr Malone (Malone, McVeagh and Anderson) for plaintiff, Mr T. S. Weston (Weston and Weston) for defendants. Mr Weston asked for particulars of the amount credited, £lO 12b Bd, from the total amount of the note. Plaintiff, cross-examined by Mr Weston, said the amount received was the proceeds of furniture sold by 1 Bewley and Griffiths, the furniture being the property of Mr and Mrs Halsall. He lent defendants £2O, to put in the business, and granted them a p.n. payable on demand, though the understanding was that it would not be presented for three months. Thfere was no arrangement that plaintiff was to be reimbursed with furniture from the shop. Eustace Griffiths, of the firm of Bewley and Griffiths, deposed that the furniture was entered in the harhe of Thomas Halsall, the proceeds being paid to Oamblin, on the former's order. Thomas Halsall, one of the defendants, stated that the arrangement was that the debt was to be satisfied by the sale of certain articles of furniture, which plaintiff approved of. Mrs Halsall gave similar evidenco. The" decision will be given to-day.
