The Keenan Case.
(Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Oct. 10. Koonan himself Iras appointed Messrs John Roberta and J. A. Johnstone (Wright and Stephenson) a* his attorneys in place of Vernon King. The new attorneys will discharge the previous attendants, replacing them by two trained men nurses. This probably menus thut the proceedings for a huiliens corpus will lapse-
On September 10th, the affairs of Mr Thomas Koenan, a paralytic, and a runholder at St. liathans, were brought before the Supreme Court at Dimi'il'ii on a motion for a habeas corpus. The applicant, Alary Kilgiaroff, sister of Keenan, said she had just arrived in the colony to look lifter her brother, but. had lieen unable Lo oUain true access to ham as be was under the guard ol three station hands. She also alleged that Mr A. 11. V. King, ex-manager for the Hank of New South Wales, at St. llathans, and now gold buyer at Duntidin. was operating 0 n her brother's account. Sho said her brother was worth urom £25,0(X) to XiIS.OOO. It was agreed that a committee should visit Kconan to examine into his sUito of mind. On Friday l n st King was arrested on a charge ol forgery, and was admitted to l>ail.
