Perils of the Sea.

BARQUENTTNE IN HEAVY ; WEATHER. (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Oct. 3. The barquentine Silver Cloud, from Napier, which port she left on September 15th for Sydney with a cargo of timber, put into Auckland to-day. The vessel fell in with heavy weather on the 20th. A gale from the Westward, with terrific squalls, was encountered, during which she strained and laboured heavily, and shipped great quantities, of water. The gale abated on the 24th, and on the 26th a seaman named J. McKeazie was injured, and Captain Greenwood tailing ill U was decided to put into Auckland.
