ISLAND MASSACRES.
NEWS FROM GERMAN NEW GUINEA.
(Received Oct. 5, 1.40 a.m.) SYDNEY, Oct. 4. News from German New Guinea states that the general opinion is that the Sacred Heart massacre was caused by a refusal to grant permission to a " boy " attached to tfie station to marry a second wife, his first being still alive. Several natives concerned in the massacres were captured. Some were shot, and others are yet to be dealt .with. The ringleaders are still at large.
