A Swagger's End.
UNWASHED FOR SIX YEARS. (Per Press Association.) HAMILTON, Sept. SO. A swagger named Michael B a rry died ,in the Waikato Hospital yesterday, having lieen thither from tihe Ohaupo Hotel. The deceased' arrived a.t the hotel on Monday, and asked' for some !>eer, tut iss he was in a wealt state, hardly a£jle to walk or breathe, the hotelkeeper served him with schnapps, and Jodgcd hint in the stable, doing what svas possible to relieve him. A constable who took the deceased to the hospital found him in a filthy condition,' the result of iongv-c o nti nued neglect. The policeman could not approach hi'.m. without using a disinfectant, anid' considered he had not washed himself for six years. At tho inquest to-day a verdict was returned that death was due to neglect ond exposure, antd' that no blame wap attachable to anyone. Deceased was sixty-thrc« years of age, n. native of Ireland, and had lieen in the colony | forty years. He was a sobdiitr in Jiis early days. I
