The Trades and Labour Council has decided to arrange that a deputation 01 one member from each affiliated union shall wait upon the Minister for Labour to protest against the opinion expressed by the President of the Arbitration Court that all cases alleging breaches of award shall be brought before the Court by the Labour Department, instead of by officers of itho unions concerned. UNIFYING THE RATE OF PAY. WELLINGTON, Sept. 30. At a meeting of employers in the various building trades it was decided to urge the Government to amend the law so as to make it compulsory that all persons employing men to erect buildings shall pay the rate of wages and observe all conditions set out in the Court award.
