In the Legislative Council the Counties Act Amendment Hill passed its final stages. After formal business had been disposed of in the House t.lio Cook and other Islands Government Act Amendment Hill was coinmittoJ. An amendment by Mr Jas. Alien, that the operation of the act shall 0r.1,v bo extended for two years, was rejected, The Cook and Other Islands Government Act Amendment Bill was further considered in committee during the evening sitting. Clauses 3 and 4, relating to the Crown Lands and Land Title Court iin the Cook Group were strongly opposed, and eventually, on Mr Mills' motion, they were struck out. The House then went into Committee of Supply for the further consideration of the estimates, The vote for tho Department of Agriculture was the first class considered.
