The South British l Insurance Company's report and balance-sheet for the year untied August Hist shows a surplus in the revonue account of £70,101 Is. The folioA'inif appropriations have been made :—Hc-in-niittiice fund, £1,0,000 ; reserve fund. £IO,OOO ; investment fluctuition £SOOO. Tho directors iccommcnd payment of a dividend for the second half year at the rate of ;<s Cd per shale, making , a total dividend for the year of 15s. The nett asiount carried forward to next year's account is £r>8,728 10s 2d.
