A Determined Suicide.

(Per l'rvss Association). DUNEDIN, Sept. ilO,

Henry Jones committed suicide at I'almerston by shooting himself. It appears lie suffered l'l'om pains about the back of Jiia head which prevented him from sleeping. lie complained of these pains to a groom at a hotel, and reminded tne latter that it was time to go to breakfast. During the groom's absence Jones fixed up a double-barreled gun nnd discharged it by means of a string attached to the trigger, the shot blowing away a considerable portion of his head. Jones was a groom, anid last year was in charge of one of the Government stud horses. lie was about 50 years of age. At tho inquest a verdict of suicide whilo temporarily insane was returned.
